I can comisserate!  For Christmas I bought my cats nice, & not cheap, beds with furry lining on one (extra warm) and satin on the other...(my boy likes satin...I don't ask...).  Now I bought these because Quint always looks cold curled up on the floor and as he has difficulties jumping on the furniture any more....well...and of course Coebeio (the younger one) HAD to have one too ...You can't give one and not the other....SO  Coey claims BOTH beds which there is no problem because Quintapus INSISTS on sleeping in the sweater box that one of my presents came in for Christmas!!!!!  aHHHHHHHHHGGH!

I CAN tell you one gift that is ALWAYS played with.  Its called the Kitty Can't Cope Sack.  Its filled with 100% organic cat nip...<and I MEAN FILLED> they go absolutely NUTS over it, even cats that don't normally care for catnip.  I friend of mine mailed me two last Christmas and the cats insisted on going through the mail every day for three months after hoping for more of them!  You can get it only on line, and they only accept checks & money orders so its a bit inconvienant...but they are worth it!

Yes, Yes , Yes they are impossible sometimes. I have birds too and find that my cats would much rather play w/ a bird toy sometimes-- anything that I didn't actually buy specifically for them will do :)
