Hi Kerry!

I would definitely have some blood drawn to check his values!  Licking cement 
(I even had one start licking the tiles in the shower) or clay along with 
lethargy can be the first sign of anemia!

In fact, that's how I first had suspicions about a couple of our cats who had 
anemia...they would climb into the fireplace and start licking the cement tiles 
that lined the walls!
