There has been a lively discussion on a breeder's health list I belong to (I am not a breeder) and it seems they are not as effective and have some other problems as well.  I will try to do some research for you.

Subject: nasal vaccines

Anyone know anything about these?

Intranasal/Intraocular Feline Vaccine  @ ValleyVet.com

Bypasses problems associated with injectable vaccinations. Recommended for the vaccination of healthy, susceptible cats 4 weeks of age and older. A 0.2 ml intranasal dose provides protective immunity against feline rhinotracheitis, feline calicivirus, and panleukopenia (feline distemper) virus. If vaccinated at less than 12 weeks of age, a 2nd dose should be given at 12-16 weeks. Annual revaccination is recommended. Droppers included.
