i am definitely at my stopping point--were not so many of mine
laid-back persians, and more than half over 10 years old, i'd be way
beyond that point by now! i am home all day, tho, and that makes a huge
difference. also, a number of my cats came here because they were so
shy or unsocialized--they share the space with me and the others on a
live-and-let-live basis: they don't particularly care for human
companionship, and occupy themselves with toys or the other cats. the
ones who want attention have absolutely NO problem making that clear. i
have a house-call vet who lets me make payments when things get rough
(hey, i'm on disability, it's always rough...) and having ken come here
takes away all the anxiety that going to the vet can engender. fostering works well for me because i can love them and socialize them and help them learn to trust humans again, then cry in their fur as i send them on to their forever homes. my forever cats just sort of roll their eyes now when a new cat comes in the house--somehow, i think they understand that they themselves are on this earth because their crazy mom gave them a chance. they ARE happy, tho, when the fosters leave!
