Michelle,
I just asked my vet,she said it depends how long Lysine takes for the body to
process it. For example drugs that take 12 hours are give 2 x daily, drugs
that take 24 hours to be processed are given 1 x daily, some are even shorter.
So if its a 12 hour drug and say you give it at 8am by 8pm it will be gone from
his system and will not be there for another 12 hours until he gets it the next
AM. However, some drugs have a range say 12-24 hours and can be given once or
twice a day. So if you want I can check and see if its listed in "PLUMB"
(that's what we call our handy pharmaceutical book that we constantly resort to
at my hospital). Or try once a day and see if there is a noticeable difference
in how he behaves/eats etc at times when the drug would be highest in his
system vs right before he would get his once a day dose.
