How big is big? Like cosequin size? I would probably lube it up a little and as 
long as he doesn't gag it should be okay.  An intial gag is different than one 
10 seconds later. The latter one means he's having a hard time with the actual 
travel downwards, but don't panic the capsules dissolve pretty easy and fast so 
it will dissolve even in his throat.  Just give him some liquid (preferably 
juice it has acid) anyway, initiallay, Aim it the long way and maybe chase it 
with 1-2cc of tuna juice just incase.  Do you use a pill popper or your fingers?
