I have a digital thermometer that has a rectal mode. You do need a rectal thermometer or one with a rectal mode.

I don't know. Do you think I should take his temp? If so, can I use a human
anal thermometer, and what is the normal range? Would there be anything to do
for a fever? If not, I am not sure I want to bother him with it.

Michelle,

Is he running a fever? We have 2 felv + cats we are doing chemo on right
now. They are a 8month old female and a 6 month old male, from the same family
(not litter). It is heart wrenching to catheter them, but they are so good
they lay with us while we give them the chemo drug. I actually practically lay
on the table with them or they partially sit on my lap, the little girl purrs
the whole session. Anyway my point was that the boy frequently would run
extremely high fevers, and his chemo would have to be delayed a day or 2 till it
came down. He would be so down and out on those days, then fine as soon as the
fever was gone.

Let me know but I prefer to send kisses so please give him one for me.
