I had a geriatric female cat who had recurring URI symptoms which did not
respond to abx therapy...just kept returning. What finally resolved her
symptoms
was a homeopathec remedy. Her symptoms did not return after that. The remedy
was one mixed by an alt. vet and he did not disclose what was in it, but I
may be able to find out. There are also standard homeopathic remedies for
treating urinary symptoms available.

URI's are usually more uncomfortable/annoying for female cats and not a
life-threatening situation as it can be for a male cat who becomes plugged up
and
needs to be catheterized.

Your post about the new info for URI's is interesting...look forward to
hearing more about it.
