Great! I went to petsc-users and gained some insight about their build
system, so now I can say I managed to build a FEniCS package with Boost,
PETSc/petsc4py, UMFPACK and SLEPc. It depends on the MKL provided by
Anaconda because it was the most direct way to get a BLAS & LAPACK up
and running.
I still don't know what to do with VTK though, but I can go back to that
later.
As FEniCS 1.5 introduces a number of changes, I will leave 1.4 as it is
now and wait for the first 1.5 alpha to provide a package with the
proper dependencies. It would be nice though to have the version
requirements clearly stated somewhere in the source code, because that
information is a bit sparse (see [1], [2]).
As I said, the installation is one command away:
$ conda install fenics --channel juanlu001
and the corresponding build scripts are here:
https://github.com/Juanlu001/conda-recipes/tree/juanlu001/fenics
Currently I tested this in Ubuntu 14.04 and Arch Linux, but any further
comments will be appreciated :)
Best regards,
Juan Luis Cano
