See source_caches in ~/.hashdist/config.yaml. I haven't tried this myself,
but it might be something we can use. I will try it tomorrow.

Yes, it builds its own Python by default, but when you run hashdist or the
fenics-install.sh script, it will use the first python in PATH. I have
searched a bit and it looks like many have similar problems when using
Python from Homebrew.
