Dear fenics people, The default Newton solver raises an exception after a certain number of iterations, but continues if the residual is a nan or an inf.
Wouldn't it be better if this were the other way around? I have personally never seen a case where the solver converges after hitting nan or inf, but many in which it manages to converge after a high number of iterations. Cheers, Gabriel * PhD Candidate* * Simula Research Laboratory*
