That's why we acutally store submission id as well as submission doctype
in Marc along with the record. We need this for this fancy "Modify this
record" link, we offer in our HGF instances, especially as a record in
our language can have more than one doctype. (Proceedings articles
published in a journal eg.)
We use something like this:

$b/$m specifying the websubmit doctype, $s the submission ID. You see
some history here: we could get rid of $b/$m by $0 if we rename the
doctypes in websubmit. Something we have on the list for some time as
finding "real names" for doctypes is plain ugly. Well. The Todo is
longer than the time you have ;)
