You're close: here's what works for me.  Note the ":ferret => " key:

    acts_as_ferret({:fields => {:name               => {:boost => 10,
:store => :yes},
                                :summary            => {:boost => 2,
:store => :yes},
                                :published          => {:boost => 1},
                                :published_on       => {:boost => 1}},
                    :ferret => { :analyzer =>
Ferret::Analysis::StandardAnalyzer.new([]) }
                    } )
