I gave a talk last year on Vim. I had a great time, the room was full,
and I want to do another talk this year. I'm considering Grails[1]
because it's relevant to my work. I'm new to Grails, so it would be a
"getting started" session showing how Grails can be used for rapid Web
application development. Any interest?

The best way to find out is sign up for a session on the Web site. People can
see it there and indicate their interest in attending.

Also, I know a rad speaker[2] who happens to be a core Ruby developer.
Anyone want to hear him talk?

There is already a ROR track being planned, you may want to touch base with James Mason(bear454 at opensuse.org) who is heading up the efffort. See here
for details (You will be prompted to log in):
https://www.peakserv.com/mailman/private/fest-list/2010-January/003298.html

The gist:

"#bhamruby, the Bellingham Ruby (and Rails) Users group would like to
present a full-day track at LFNW10, but I need to get a few questions
answered before we all sign up.

At this point we're planning on 4 presentations: Introduction to
Rails, Advanced Rails Hackery (using plugins, middleware, and hacking
Rails itself), Styling Rails Apps, and Real World Issues (deployment,
scalability, performance)."

If folks know of a better way to get this information than emailing
list list (maybe a survey or something?) let me know. I just want to
get a feel for what folks are interested in.

The Sessions page on the Web site is designed to be a survey of sorts.
