The organizers of LinuxFest Northwest 2010 are seeking volunteers for this
years Fest. We are looking primarily for room monitors.

The main duties of a room monitor are as follows:
Greet the presenter.
Make sure the audience does not exceed the room occupancy limit.
Take an audience count.
Make sure the presentation ends on time.

If room monitoring is not your thing, there are also general duty
chores available. This covers exhibitor set up, signage duties, clean up, etc.

The perks:
We will try to match you up with presentations you want to see. This is done
on a first come, first served basis.
Staff T-shirts until supply runs out. Please indicate size when you sign up.
RETURNING VOLUNTEERS
We will be using the same color shirts as last year. If you still have your
shirt from last year, we ask that you use it again in order that we may
stretch the budget. When you sign up please let me know if you already have a
shirt.

Times:
The Fest is Saturday April 24th & Sunday April 25th, 2010. There will be a
setup session the afternoon of Friday April 23th. This is generally from 5:00
PM to 8:00 PM. The days of the Fest the doors open to Staff at 7:00 AM and to
the public at 9:00 AM. The last presentation will end around 4:00 PM. There
is a tear down session Sunday April 25th after the last presentation. These
times are based on last years schedule. As this years schedule has not been
set they may change.

Sign up:

The LFNW site has changed since last year, so there is a new sign up procedure.
On the home page at the top is a link, Create an account. Click on this and you
will be taken to a page where you set up your user account. To volunteer go to
the Attendance section of the form and mark the Volunteer checkbox. If you have
any special requests use the Special Needs textbox immediately above the
checkbox. If you have already created account just go to your profile, click on
the Edit tab and then the Attendance button to get to the Volunteer checkbox.

The more people that sign up the more we can spread the load. The hope is to
have room monitors do no more than two presentations, so you can see the rest
of the Fest. To accomplish this we need 45-50 volunteers.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me at the email address below.

Thanks,
