The work is happening in https://github.com/AOMediaCodec/av2-isobmff if anyone is interested in following along or adding features.
The current draft [1] is still at a very early stage. The plan for v1 is to handle the most common CMAF streaming case: single track, single layer, and possibly alpha. Some of the more involved features in AV2 are left for future versions. Though if anyone is willing to contribute additional features, the requirements for v1 are flexible at this point.
