This has nothing to do with libavcodec.
I beg all developers to not start a new flamewar like we had last November. You were able to extend the life of ffserver until a major bump were to take place. ffserver got virtually no development and was not fixed/adapted to work like every other fftool for an entire year since then, and is therefore going to be removed as agreed.
