I'm trying to compress my DV camera output to H264 using ffmpeg. The input file is the raw DV stream obtained directly from my DV camera using dvgrab. Dvgrab didn't reported any dropped frame nor any other error moreover I'm able to play them with VLC and mplayer without errors or dropped frames so I'm assuming my DV files are ok. You can find a sample of my input files at http://www.varesano.net/temp/AC_EOB_marker_is_absent.dv (40MB) I run ffmpeg with the following command: ffmpeg -i AC_EOB_marker_is_absent.dv -acodec libfaac -ab 128k -b 2000k -vc h264 -qscale 1 -deinterlace -y out.mp4 When running the conversion, ffmpeg reported various times the following error: [dvvideo @ 0x1692730] AC EOB marker is absent pos=65 It seems that on each error there is a dropped frame in the resulting output being pretty useless. Output of ffmpeg -v 9 -loglevel 99 follows at the end of this report. I'm available to provide further details, I'll follow this bug report if you need me.
