New submission from moviemaniac <[email protected]>:

Well, the title says it all: It would be great if ffmpeg would support
passing through the core DolbyDigital audio embedded in TrueHD streams
over S/PDIF.
ffmpeg already supports this for DTS-HD streams.

Application of this feature: Watching BluRays streamed from the BD
drive via MakeMKV without having to rip them to get to the dolby
digital core-audio. This already works fine for disks with DTS-HD sound
but it's a pita having to rip TrueHD BluRays before being able to watch
them with my external amplifier.
