But that does not really matter now. Thanks for your suggestion regarding -f dv. That really works out. I cannot really get this to work with mplayer (-demuxer +rawdv does not work). In this case, a proper MXF parser might be a better solution - though - granted - the mentioned patch segfaults with mplayer and MXF as well.
My question now is this: How do you play MXF-GC AES-BWF Audio in an OP Atom MXF? -f wav does not solve it for me... I understand what you mean by saying MXF support itself is not needed, just let the appropriate parser find the actual stream. But I think this might get complicated somewhen, when we e.g. want to copy timecode tracks or map metadata with ffmpeg.
