When screencasting using ffmpeg, using x264 and pcm_s16le as such - 

ffmpeg -r 25 -f x11grab -s 1280x800 -threads 10 -i :0.0 -f alsa -ac 1 -ar 22100
-ab 10K -i plughw:0,0 -ac 1 -ar 22100 -ab 10K -acodec pcm_s16le -vcodec libx264
-vpre lossless_ultrafast -r 25 -threads 10 Desktop/hello.mkv

The audio video is out of sync (see clearly after 3 minutes). When the resultant
video is trancoded to separate the audio and video, the audio is longer than the
video. In certain setups, even the opposite happens (like with libvorbis as 
acodec)
