New submission from JungleBoy <[email protected]>: On 22nd Feb 2011 the BBC made changes to their HD encoder which causes the raw TS file to display no video with MPC-HC/ffdshow/Haali. Switching to hardware decoding in MPC-HC works ok. VLC is also ok. TS Packet Editor which relys on ffdshow no longer shows any video. Version numbers: OS: Windows XP SP3 MPC-HC: 1.4.2499.0 ffdshow tryouts: rev 3757 Feb 9th 2011 Haali: 1.10.348.15 VLC: 1.1.7 The Luggage TS Packet Editor: 0.810 (Bitstreamtools) I've created a short 3 second (3Mbyte) TS file using DGSplit v1.1 I can supply a larger sample if you wish. The sample is the start of episode 4 of "Rivers with Griff Rhys Jones" captured on 22nd Feb 2011 from BBC HD. Both the libavcodec and ffmpeg-mt decoders fail to decode the TS file. Switching to hardware decoding in MPC-HC cures the problem. I'm using an NVidia 8600 graphics card which supports NVidia CUDA. The DGAVCIndex (neuron/Donald Graft) tool also works ok. This encodes HD using the NVidia graphics card via the CUDA driver. So the hardware is decoding the TS ok - the problem is just the software decode method which causes a problem with TS Packet Editor. File 'sample.ts' not attached - you can download it from https://roundup.ffmpeg.org/file1349.
