New submission from Aaron <[email protected]>:

I noticed Valve's steam app. uses a bunch of open
source projects including FFmpeg. Besides a
file "ThirdPartyLegalNotices.doc" under program
files\steam with the only reference to FFmpeg being -

"For FFMPeg, part of Chromium, part of CEF:
Most files in FFmpeg are under the GNU Lesser General
Public License version 2.1
or later (LGPL v2.1+). Read the file COPYING.LGPL for
details. Some other files
have a MIT/X11/BSD-style license. In combination the
LGPL v2.1+ applies to
FFmpeg."

There are no further credits to FFmpeg and no mention
of usage accessible from the main application (that I
could find). I also cannot find any links or files
from within the app. or website to download the L/GPL
sources.

The app. link is :-

http://cdn.steampowered.com/download/SteamInstall.msi

or

http://store.steampowered.com/about/

The distribution I installed contains FFMPEG
libraries in the locations:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\avutil-50.dll
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\avcodec-52.dll
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\avformat-52.dll
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\avutil-50.dll
