to rename a file there is
svn mv/rename

if you svn rm / svn add you destroy the history of that file
svn isnt git, svn has zero inteligence it cant match such things up

please read mplayer/DOCS/tech/svn-howto.txt in mplayer svn
especially "Reverting broken commits"
it explains how to get the original file back with history by using svn cp -r
