 That URL is (kind of?) a playlist:

 Both using the first one or using hls+http:// with the original URL
 results in output with video.

 The issue seems to be that FFmpeg tries to get multiple variants at the
 same time, and the server does not like that at all.
 Sent a patch/hack to the list.
