I can confirm this working with gcc-4.6 on FreeBSD-9.
If you're using built-in gcc-4.2 (the default gcc shipped with FreeBSD)
you will have errors as mentioned above.
Using 4.6, h264 decoding works perfectly.
Big ups for finding a solution to that one :)
