Yes, but I was having the same problem '''even when using
"format=yuva444p"'''.
Looks like it's a problem just in FFplay... I checked that FFmpeg really
works fine

ffplay -i file.mp4 -vf "format=yuva444p,
geq=lum_expr=cb(X\,Y)+cr(X\,Y):cb_expr=0:cr_expr=0"
}}}
Could you please check again with the above command?
