As a workaround, you may consider using bmxtools to create a standard OP-
1a file first.
Till today I haven't had any success generating Avid-compatible OpAtom
files form ffmpeg directly, nor muxing/transcoding Avid-compatible OpAtom
to other formats/containers using ffmpeg.
