Can we get more user-friendly diagnostics in this case? An error message,
an explanation of why, an update to the manpage and maybe to
https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Concatenate#protocol?
Rereading the wiki page, if it's true that this basically only works for
mpegts and mpg files, it should be easy to check for.
Having ffmpeg behave like it works but then not actually working is not a
great outcome.
