MKVs usually contain MP4-style H.264. You cannot dump that into a file and
expect it to work. In other words, your resulting file is invalid.
Generally, you are best advised to use a tool thats designed for
processing video, like ffmpeg itself, if you want to seperate the video
out of an existing file.
