I've noticed the same thing for the h264 encoders (h264_nvenc, hevc_nvenc,
libopenh264).
One thing I've noticed is that:
If I try to specify profile 77 (as a string) it finds the MAIN profile for
all 3 on version 7.1.0 it works.
On Version 6.1.2 and 7.0.2 profile 77 (as a string) gives: Numerical
result out of range with h264_nvenc.
I'm currently switching on the version of FFMPEG to get around it.
