Hi Sanders, out of curiosity , what compression do you have set in the EXR?
I found that with PIZ compression , ffmpeg often (if not always) fails .
There was a bug reported some time ago but I think that has been fixed
already : https://trac.ffmpeg.org/ticket/4386
