[FFmpeg-user] speed up ffmeg encoding

I am using the below command and it takes so much time to encode a 20MB file. 
how can I speed  up the ffmpeg encoding? Will speeding up affect the final file 
size?
ffmpeg -i input.avi -movflags +faststart output.mp4
