Ah...OK it seems the solution was the addition of: -protocol_whitelist file,udp,rtp
(in my case the SDP points at RTP video transported using UDP) This only seems to be an issue for any input that needs to access a remote video source...? I don't have to explicitly add a whitelist if, for example, opening a local video file. I assume that is the intention behind the change...?
