Yes I have confirmed that the binary from http://www.ffmpegmac.net/ does not support https. If you would prefer to download binary, try https://evermeet.cx/ffmpeg/ Above site's binary supports https. Supporting OS is Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks and after. https://evermeet.cx/ffmpeg/ 's files are compressed with 7za. You may have to have The Unarchiver to extract. (Or download DMG) https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-unarchiver/id425424353?mt=12 If you extracted files successfully, just move or copy executables to /usr/local/bin. "sudo chmod +x" is not needed.
