Hello there, Have you tried using the restream option?
ffmpeg -re -i capture_device -vaapi_device /dev/dri/renderD128 -movflags +faststart -vf 'format=nv12|vaapi,hwupload' -c:v h264_vaapi {$encoder_opts} outputfile. Try and report back.
