At the bottom-right of the screen, i have the time appear here. The computer who generate that time are in sync with the same NTP source as my computer (using the same software). When i play the clip from FFPLAY, VLC or the other sofware, i simply move the screen to be near my time. Then i use snagit, and record the portion of the screen that include both time (my PC, and the other PC who generate it). I then open this clip on and editor, and calculate the delay between the minute shift (record at 60 fps/sec).
Another test, to check the delay, are to open 3 player, and align the,. Because i also have a crawling bar at the bottom (like CNN), when i allign them, i can see who are the leader, and who is way behind everyone.... So the 100 ms sec delay i realy got, include all in the chain (network delay, monitor delay, processing delay in the player,..). We want to use that return for close-caption. So the "close-captionist" see the "on-air" return of the show, but before the streamer, there is our CC inserter device. So the close-captionnist type the new CC on our CC software, and see the result on the computer screen, with 100ms delay (approx). I try VLC without luck (between 1sec and 1.5sec) Erik Gaudin Chef de projet Société Radio-Canada (SRC) Ingénierie Médias (Montréal) Project Leader Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) Media Engineering (Montreal) Tél. : 514-597-6586 (1-141-6586) Cell. : 514-895-6586 Le jeu. 25 oct. 2018, à 15 h 35, Paul B Mahol <[email protected]> a écrit : > On 10/25/18, Erik Gaudin <[email protected]> wrote: > > In FFPLAY, there is a hot-key to switch from one substitle to the other. > > When i use it, it seem to do somethin (i notice in the DOS windows the > > function is receive... but no substitle. > > > > If the Substitle is not suported, why add this function ? > > > > I just try MPV, but the latency are not good compare to FFPLAY, and > another > > application i tested. > > How you measure latency? > > > > > VLC, Latency issue.. it added 1 sec, and can't lower that value at all, > > unless there is a command line i didn't find. > > > > > > > > > > > > Erik Gaudin > > Chef de projet > > Société Radio-Canada (SRC) > > Ingénierie Médias (Montréal) > > > > > > Project Leader > > Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) > > Media Engineering (Montreal) > > > > > > Tél. : 514-597-6586 (1-141-6586) > > Cell. : 514-895-6586 > > > > > > Le jeu. 25 oct. 2018, à 13 h 23, Paul B Mahol <[email protected]> a > écrit : > > > >> On 10/25/18, Erik Gaudin <[email protected]> wrote: > >> > How to display Close Caption on the screen ? > >> > > >> > When i open our internal stream with VLC, i can displayed Substitle. > But > >> > can't find how to do it with ffplay.exe (windows) > >> > > >> > Here what i use to display the stream : ffplay > >> > udp://@239.255.123.1:1234 -analyzeduration > >> > 200 > >> > > >> > I use the last argument for low latency. > >> > > >> > > >> > Here what appear in DOS when start FFPLAY with URL only : > >> > > >> > Input #0, mpegts, from 'udp://@239.255.179.6:5000':q= 0B f=0/0 > >> > Duration: N/A, start: 86892.634178, bitrate: N/A > >> > Program 2672 > >> > Stream #0:0[0xa72]: Video: hevc (Main) ([36][0][0][0] / 0x0024), > >> > yuv420p(tv), 1280x720 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], Closed Captions, 59.94 fps, > >> 59.94 > >> > tbr, 90k tbn, 59.94 tbc > >> > Stream #0:1[0xa73](eng): Audio: aac_latm (LC) ([17][0][0][0] / > >> 0x0011), > >> > 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp > >> > Stream #0:2[0xa74](fre): Audio: aac_latm (LC) ([17][0][0][0] / > >> 0x0011), > >> > 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp > >> > > >> > > >> > In VLC, CC are in Flux # 3 (Flux 0 = video, Flux 1 & 2 Audio track) > >> > > >> > I try multiple argument ( like -sst) but nothing happen.
