I agree on this in principle. We use AVOptions implementation for interpreting this input mostly everywhere. I think for filters and probably everywhere else where AVOptions are used we should add a *linked* type information. Readers can immediately recognize what possible inputs are or if they don't they can quickly follow the link and read it up.
