So ok, you didn't see this because of the exhaustive cutting and concatenation, which was identical in all 3 cases.. My guess was, that this maybe irritates the correct processing of the codec. I.e. the libx264 level was 5 for the "veryslow" case, but 3.1 for the others, why? Is there a rule to choose different levels for different presets?
