Thanks Paul I had looked over it, but I am not sure I follow where I can 
configure the additional inputs....

-list_options shows different sample rates and depths,

-show_audio_device_dialog doesn't seem to offer any options around the channels 
that I can see.

I have googled but I am not having a lot of success, could you suggest which 
options I should be looking at in particular?
