dumb question from a newby

I have a 'media player with tv tuner ' box (Noontec v9t)

can I stream live TV programs from the media player tv tuner to a pc along
a blue cable ?

is this what ffserver can do ?

is ffserver available as binary ipkg

another dumb question:

say I save a tv programme as a '.ts' on the media player

to watch it on a pc, I can simply run 'vlc \\media player\rec\filenam.ts'

what are benefits or advantages of streaming the 'ts' file to vlc instead ?

if I want to stream on this small home LAN, what protocol to use ?

thanks
