Salam belajar ... Rdp Terus belajar walau UN ditunda ... Looh. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: *Soffian Joyopranoto* Date: Friday, April 19, 2013 Subject: Trs: Visit to Indonesia, IPA, and LUSI LAB planning To: [email protected] --- Pada *Ming, 14/4/13, adriano mazzini <[email protected]<javascript:_e({}, 'cvml', '[email protected]');> >* menulis: Dari: adriano mazzini <[email protected] <javascript:_e({}, 'cvml', '[email protected]');>> Judul: Visit to Indonesia, IPA, and LUSI LAB planning Kepada: "soffian" <[email protected] <javascript:_e({}, 'cvml', '[email protected]');>>, "hardi prasetyo" < [email protected] <javascript:_e({}, 'cvml', '[email protected]');>>, "Bambang P. As you probably know I will attend the IPA meeting 15-17th of May. The purpose of this visit are multiple. One of them is to advertize the project with posters and brochures and find people interested in it and perhaps sponsors and/or people that would like to join the project and cooperate with us. Probably the most important goal of the visit is to get the project moving and sort out some pending issues. I really hope you can help me although I understand that you can do this only during your free time. I will list below the most important: -Define localities where we can install the seismometers for microsesimicity monitoring. Depending on the price estimates that we get from the seismic companies I would like to install a network of approximately 5 seismometers in the area around Lusi and 2-3 more closer to the Watukosek escarpment and or Ponanggungang. Again in order to do this we need to locate suitable wells (2-300m deep?) and may be rent them from private people or from companies. The main parameters that we need to know to order the seismometers are temperature, diameter, casing (if any or not), and the type of fluid (dry or water, oil, or corrosive) in the well. Please help me out to find these well or suggest me a person that I can contact to sort this out. If you think it is better I can hire someone that you advise to solve this problem. If we cannot find any location then let's abort this part of the project and let's focus on something else, but this would be really a pity. - We need to advertize the PhD position for the project. Needless to say that I would prefer to employ an Indonesian candidate. During the IPA I would like to meet some candidates that you may advise. The requirement to be qualified to start a PhD in Oslo is a Master degree. The candidate should preferably be familiar with the Lusi eruption and with geochemistry of gas, water and possibly seismology. We can even think about a joint PhD with any Indonesian University if you think could be good. Again, please suggest me some Indonesian candidates if you think there are some, alternatively we can advertize the position in Europe and fill it quickly. The IPA organizers tell me that I can provide 10 names of people that can get free budge to access the exposition area. These budges coudl be appropriate for people interested in the Lusi Lab project for e.g. a PhD that I coudl interview during the meeting. So again please let me know if you have any suggestion. -Before I leave Indonesia i would like to decide which company is better to use for buying the seismometers. I was in contact with IESE ( http://www.iese.co.nz/about-iese ) , and another company. However they both gave me very high estimates. Therefore I would like to contact the company that did the last seimicity survey around Lusi. Can any of you please provide me the name and contacts of this company so I can try to contact them and organize a meeting while I am there? -After the IPA I will fly to Surabaja. Soffian suggested to go and visit Mt Pandan and to take some soem samples at Lusi. Please advise if you have other suggestions of things that would be nice to do. If you think it is necessary we can organize a meeting in BPLS and I can present some data and plans for future. For example we should discuss the logistics in order to do the probing of the feeder channel. In order to do so, we will need to pull the raft to the center of the crater and then with a system of winches lover in the feeder conduit a multi-logging device. If you think that this task if not feasible at all, please let me know now so I stop dreaming of doing it. -I will fly back to Houston the 26th of May so please advise me when is the best period to come to Surabaja between 18-26 May. -On another note, in cooperation with the INGV in Rome we are building a multirotor device in order to sample Lusi crater from above. The idea is to equip it with camera, thermometer, gas and water sampling devices. We are also thinking to construct some devices for the conduit logging. If you have some suggestions regarding this please let me know. -We will need to discuss the strategy for probing Lusi crater with multisensor device. I Will take care of designing of renting the multisensor device. The logistic part for the deployment design in situ is another part. That should include for example the raft itself, the ropes, wires, winches, and possibly electricity. Can BPLS take care of this part? Or alternatively I need to look for funds for this? -I discussed with a couple of companies the possibility to deploy inside the feeder channel few hundred meters of optic wire in order to measure temperature variations. This equipment allows to complete real time readings through the full length of the cable through time. That means that we could see how the temperature evolves inside the conduit e.g. due to pulsations or flushes of fluids. This would be good for future numerical modelling. So far I contacted GESO (http://www.geso.eu/) and ANTARES ( http://www.antares-geo.de/) however I am open for suggestions if you recommend different companies. Please forward this email if I forgot someone interested in my list. I hope to hear from you soon. Please please let me know. kind regards and thanks for your help. adriano -- ******************************** Dr Adriano Mazzini Centre for Earth Evolution and Dynamics (CEED) University of Oslo Sem Saelandsvei 24, Blindern 0316 Oslo Norway E-mail:[email protected]<http://mc/[email protected]> Tel: +47 228 56108 Fax: +47 228 55101 http://folk.uio.no/adrianom/ ******************************** -- *"**Good idea is important key to success, "working on it" will make it real."* -- -- Keluar dari milis: kirim email ke [email protected] Situs web alumni: http://kumpulgeologi.wordpress.com --- Anda menerima pesan ini karena Anda berlangganan grup "Milis Teknik Geologi UGM Yogyakarta" dari Grup Google.
