Hi Mary - for some folks knitting is a way to have warm clothing and it's
the end result and not the Zen.
my aunt made several hand made quilts every winter that were the old pieced
& tied quilts made out of
whatever materials she had at hand and could find. she wasn't interested in
looks as much as she was
sturdiness and warmth for her family. and now, the 5th generation is finding
comfort, warmth and love
under her quilts.
for a lot of people, the beauty is in the warm feet and knowing someone
loved them enough to think about
their cold feet in the first place. anytime anyone makes me anything their
time, money, love, thought, etc.
went into the gift. they thought about ME and if the result is a pair of
machine knitted socks, I am still blessed by their generous spirit and gift.
it's casting bread upon the waters.
