About 20 years ago when my youngest son returned from Army service in
Germany, he brought home several beautiful wool sweaters, bought very
reasonably over there. I always washed them by hand and dried them flat on
towels on the dining room table. THEN, he was married and his new wife put
these beautiful sweaters in the washer!! Guess what? Felted sweaters.
