Hi! I hope this topic isn't too exhausted -- I don't check my e-mail too frequently. Sorry if it is. Anyway, I used to have a septic system which I was nervous about clogging. I discovered a hot water rinse to do the trick. How to: Put a portion of fleece in a bucket. Run hottest tap water over it -- grease will be released from the fleece. Lug the bucket outside and pour off that brown greasy water somewhere suitable (I had a few acres of woods back then). Wash fleece as usual with favorite soap (I use laundry detergent). The hot pre-wash rinse seemed to work real well and I thought helped in the scouring process.
