I've been using my pasta machine for years--it came to me one day when I was thinking about roller gins. I even wrote it up and submitted it to Spin-Off--at first they said they were interested , and even had me take and send pictures, and then it apparently just got shuffled off somewhere. Ah, well. Anyway--just set your machine for the narrowest setting. Fluff up the cotton a bit, either with your fingers or by dotting it onto wool cards and giving it a couple of swipes. Then crank them through the machine--the cotton comes out the bottom and the seeds stay on top. I have had a problem with the cotton that really sticks to the seeds--my rollers are too smooth. Sometime I want to unvent something with wooden rollers. Until then, what I've done is take a strip of denim and crank it though along with the cotton to provide some friction.
