Yikes! :) I don't know if I've just given up ever trying to spin a
'true' Shetland ring yarn, or whether I've had a new goal set for me <g>

Beverly Horne's Fleece in Your Hands was one of my very first spinning
books, and has been an inspiration to me. I was so thrilled when I was
first able to spin a yarn as fine as her Merino project, 4300 yards per
pound as a two ply. The shawl she made with that yarn is not nearly as
fine, comparing photos, as the pictures of true ring shawls I've seen.

Now I understand why they say in books it could take a year to spin 2
ounces of yarn :) I wonder if they were paid enough to truly make that
time more remunerative than other activities?

Deborah, you always give such choice bits of information when you post!
I wish you would post more often :)
