The Weavers Friend loom was made by the Reed loom Co. of Springfield ,Ohio. And like you mentioned - you have to beat three times to completly change the shed. They have an incredibly large shed - but are not as fast to weave at since you have to beat 3 times.
There was also a Weavers Friend loom made by the Newcomb loom Co . in Davenport, IA. But the one made by the Newcomb Co was a pipe frame loom. with treadles. I have both kinds of Weavers Friend looms. If you'r ever in N.E.
