Holly, I've used Navajo-plied yarn for socks and had no problems. The
singles were fine and well-twisted and I put a goodly amount of twist in the
plying too. The finished yarn was somewhere between fingering and sport yarn
in thickness. (Sorry, I don't bother with wraps per inch!) I've been wearing
the socks for several years now with only one repair on the heels where I
always wear socks out first. No difference with the "loops". They seem to
have blended right into the yarn.
