Just to show that the spirit of San Diego is not quenched, let's go ahead and have the Plied Together on Saturday, Nov 1, 11AM-??
We are here. We are fiber folk. We survive disasters. Since it is Thursday October 30, as I write this, and I have no idea what the air quality will be like, I will host the Plied Together in my home. I myself have respiratory issues and am confined to my home. The Plied Together is ostensibly a group for spinners, but all fiber persuasions are always welcome here. Bring your lunch, knitting, spinning, etc, show-offs etc Please RSVP to me off list at [EMAIL PROTECTED] and I will email you directions off-list. All visitors to San Diego welcome. We have everything needed to teach folks how to knit or spin on a drop spindle. - Gloriamarie Amalfitano, knitting/spinning/writing in San Diego, Instigator of the Knit Together and the Plied Together for resident and visiting San Diego Fiber Folk: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] PS: A world famous knitter and my dearest friend, Judy Gibson (aka THE Judy) had to evacuate her home in the early hours of Monday morning. At this time, we believe that she has lost her home and most of its contents. But details have not yet been provided as everyone is still too busy fighting the fire. The fire did come within 2 miles of me and I was packed and ready to evacuate. Once I packed the cats, some clothes, the family pictures and my computer, I also packed my Lendrum DT and grabbed all 7 or so baskets of unfinished and ready to start knitting projects sitting in my living room. I also grabbed my drawer full of knitting needles and the other drawers of knitting aids. I sat down in my chair to think which books of the 2 or 3 tons (no exaggeration) I should take, when I fell sound asleep!! And when I awoke around 5 PM, the danger was past.
